Frequent Flyer Web Application in Garuda

As a way to serve the customers and gaining the competitive advantage of the technology, Garuda Indonesia recently upgraded its Frequet Flyer Web Application to incorporate several new features. Asimetris is tasked to develop and test the new features.

The work is a group effort with different parties involved in the development. Asimetris leads the project by introducing the Rational Unified Process into the team members. Currently, the project is still undergoing stringent testing processes. We expect the work to be completed sometime in March 2010.

Telkom IBM Rational Tools Implementation

We provided our expertise in software engineering to Telkom Indonesia. As a way to implement an Application Lifecycle Management, we introduced the IBM Rational Unified Process into the organization. Proper usage of the tools to increase their development speed as well as increasing quality software delivery are some of the objectives.

CIMB-Niaga Implements Software Testing Process

With the new merger of Bank Niaga, and LippoBank under the management of CIMB from Malaysia, a new testing process is required to speed up the delivery of the application into the production environment.

Asimetris is tasked to provide a specific consulting in the areas of software testing – implementing our very own Implementation Framework ensuring the success of the implementation process together with the software tools from IBM Rational Software.

BNI-Implementation of Configuration and Change Management

Requires a standard process for change management and the management of source codes, documentation and other development artefacts.

Conducted workshops and consulting work to implement the change management process. Describe how the IBM Rational ClearQuest must be configured and customized to their working environment.

Consultancy for Web Application and Security Penetration Testing in Direktorat Jendral Pajak Departemen Keuangan

DJP Pajak requires penetration testing making sure that the web application system will not be hacked and help the organization manage regulatory and standards compliance in online environments. As the web application is exposed in the internet, hackers will be able to penetrate into DJP Pajak internal system –stealing or exposing sensitive data in its own website. Our objective is to identify the vulnerabilities within the web application and ensure that the internal data is protected.

In this project, we utilize the IBM Rational AppScan to provide the required service. IBM Rational AppScan provides quick penetration testing and instant identification of the web application vulnerabilities. AppScan also provides actionable reports at the end of the scanning process. These reports are not intuitive and must be communicated to the developers. We must supplement the reports with our own findings as well.

Siebel CRM Implementation Performance Testing using IBM Rational Performance Tester for Siebel for Bank Central Asia TBK (BCA)

BCA was at the final stage of the Siebel CRM system implementation. BCA had released the application to a selected group of users. The application performance was not satisfied. In order to mitigate the problem, BCA carried out performance testing with our proven testing techniques and processes. The performance testing was carried out in in Jakarta and in Singapore.

The implementation of the Performance Testing was carried out with progressive loading of virtual testers. The initial testing started with one hundred virtual testers, and scaled to one thousand. At each stage of the test, the Siebel application was modified, and hardware resources were added to accommodate the increasing number of users.

The Performance Testing revealed that in a complex application system, such as Siebel, the application system may not be able to handle such a large group of users (as demonstrated using the virtual testers). And in order to satisfy application performance, hardware resources must be added progressively as well.

Unified Change Management Implementation using IBM Rational ClearCase in BII

Providing consultancy to design a new Change Management workflow accomodating complex organization structures. The most difficult challenge is to overcome the organization’s lack of skills in managing software release.

During the project, various stakeholders are present and we must overcome conflicting interests when we configure the IBM Rational ClearQuest. This system provides the enforcement of the work processes. IBM Rational ClearCase provides the automation for system staging and software release automation.

In this project we worked with Windows and UNIX environments. Most users carry out their daily activities using Windows. However, several systems are targeted for the UNIX platforms. IBM Rational ClearCase for UNIX is used throughout the project. We enabled the integration of the IBM Rational ClearQuest in the Windows platform into the UNIX environment.

Application Development Process using IBM Rational in Telkomsel

Telkomsel has been enforcing the process guide across IT development teams to improve the quality of our application development and enable the audit process for the application management. Since project teams used the process without any supporting tools, they had to manually track the progress of each of the projects using multiple documents. Audit team also had to perform tedious work over hardcopy documents to verify and evaluate projects compliance with the application management process. Inconsistent versions of project document files were stored in different hardware machines belonging to different team members. Different versions of hardcopy documents were also in circulation. Obtaining the latest status of all projects was daunting and took a considerable significant amount of time.

The consultants from Asimetris identified the tool set from IBM Rational Software. Because Telkomsel needed to have a central repository for all project documents and enforce document templates, IBM Rational RequisitePro was selected. Telkomsel also required that configuration management of files implemented. IBM Rational ClearCase was selected for the configuration management tool In order to manage the workflow and enforce the rules of the application management process, it was decided that IBM Rational ClearQuest provided the ‘glue’ for the team work. Furthermore, IBM Rational Software Architect and IBM Rational Robot were also implemented for the design and testing to produce high-quality applications.

Implementation of IBM HATS (Host Access Transformation Services) in PT. YKK Zipper Indonesia

Extending and transforming YKK legacy application (5250) into an easy-to-use web-based application. The running of the legacy application involves several workflows. Using IBM HATS we generated the ‘programmed’ navigation which consists of macros to make the legacy application more intuitive in the web-based environment.

The generated programmed navigation must be further refined. Our Java programming skills play the biggest role to make the webapplication successful. We utilized IBM Rational Software Architect – a very powerful modeling and development tool to speed up our programming tasks.

The web-based environment is a modern application system running on web browser with familiar user interfaces consists of images; buttons; drop-down lists; etc.

In this project, we further refined the IBM HATS generated programmed navigation. We utilized IBM Rational Software Architect – a very powerful modeling and development tool to speed up our programming tasks. We also provides some ‘extra’ that were not covered by IBM HATS.

Project Lifecycle Management using IBM Rational Portfolio Manager (RPM) for AndrewTani & Co,PT (ATC)

Our objective in this project is to understand the PMO / PMI concept and implement some of the concepts into RPM. ATC is a management consultant company. Within ATC, consultants work in several projects. Each project requires certain resources allocation. RPM manages the allocation and at the same time providing insights (such as financial information; time / duration in a project; daily sign in / out; etc.) into each project that was previously unavailable.

This project begins in the analysis stage of the requirements. Most of these requirements were derived from the PMO / PMI concepts. ATC has its own ‘flavor’ of the PMO / PMI as well, and we help the management to implement the requirements into the RPM. In the implementation stage of the RPM, several parts of the RPM were customized to work with a new workflow as defined in the requirement.
